Trade Justice

Meets: Wednesday 1-2pm in Cafe Mondial
Facebook group here - tradejustice-at-hotmail.co.uk

Many producers around the world aren't getting a fair deal for their work; underpaid and discriminated against by unfair trade rules, they suffer while we happily consume their goods. The trade justice movement is about making things fairer by giving the producers a decent wage and changing the way trade works so that it is in the favour of people in need and the environment.

Facebook group here - readingstopaids-at-yahoo.co.uk

The problem of AIDS needs little introduction; there are over 41 million sufferers worldwide, and 8000 people die of the virus every day. however it is a particular problem amongst young people, many of whom are unaware that the virus exists, and how it spreads. Despite recent breakthroughs, cheap drugs are still being held back from those who need them most. We are calling for more awareness raising in the developing world, and more cheap drugs for sufferers.
